Samsung Electronics has today announced the launch of a new TV that’s built for use outdoors. Dubbed the Terrance, the new 4K QLED TV joins Samsung’s lineup of lifestyle TVs including The Frame, The Sero and The Serif.
The Samsung Terrace comes with an IP55 rating, making it resistant to both water and dust and thus durable outdoors. The TV also comes with other features such as 2000 nits high brightness and an anti-glare coating with software enhancements to produce better images outside.
The Terrace models come in 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch models all featuring Samsung’s smart TV plus service that offers up to 120 channels for free.
Alongside the Terrace TV, Samsung has also announced the Terrace soundbar that (as you guessed it) is also meant to be used outdoors. The Terrace soundbar also comes with an IP55 rating and features in-built speakers.
Pricing and Availability
The Samsung Terrace TV is currently available in the U.S. and Canada with other regions (including South Africa) expected to get the TV later on in the year. As for pricing, we expect the 55-inch model to cost R62,000. The other two models, 65-inch and 75-inch water expected to cost anywhere between R88,500 and R115,000 respectively.
There’s no word on the cost of the Terrace soundbar as of yet.
