Ride-hailing and delivery service Uber has announced the launch of their new product Uber Pass in South Africa. The product is a monthly subscription service that unlocks discounts on the app, including free deliveries on Uber Eats orders and discounted rides on various Uber services.
“For anyone relying on Uber to move around their city or have local favourites delivered to their door, Uber Pass is live nationwide for customers in cities like Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg, Cape Town, East London and Durban,” Uber said through a press release.
Priced at R100 per month, Uber Pass will give subscribers the following benefits:
- 10% off the first 45 rides, per month, on either Uber X, Uber XL, Uber Connect, or Uber Go service.
- 15% off on the first 45 Uber Black or Uber Van rides per month.
- Free delivery and an additional 5% off on the first 30 deliveries on UberEats orders (including groceries) over R80.
New Features Incoming
In addition to launching Uber Pass in South Africa, the company said it has also launched its new Uber Eats UI, which introduces several new categories outside of food delivery such as toiletries, butchers, pet supplies, and other daily essentials.
